Course Objectives: At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
1. Compare and contrast the clinical reasoning strategies and process used by the novice physical therapist student and the expert or experienced physical therapist
2. Apply clinical reasoning training tools to clinical reasoning development for physical therapy students in the clinical education setting
3. Utilize evidence-based strategies to improve clinical reasoning skills in the clinical education setting

About the Speaker:  Lauren Tourtellott PT, DPT, Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy currently serves as an assistant professor and Associate Director of Clinical Education in the Russell Sage College Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. In addition, she is a per diem inpatient physical therapist at Sunnyview Rehab Hospital. She is a 2009 graduate of Sacred Heart University where she received her B.S. in Exercise Science before graduating in 2012 from Sacred Heart University with her DPT.

Cancellation Policy:  Tuition will be refunded if notification is made on or prior to October 2, 2025.  There will be no refund provided for cancellations after October 2, 2025 or for “no shows” on the day of the course.

Tuition costs support the Consortium’s mission to promote education and research in clinical education, as well as to provide scholarships to student physical therapists and clinical partners.

Continuing Education Credits:

This program has been approved for ______ CEs by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiner –  NJ Board Course Number _________.

The DPT Program at Rutgers University are recognized by the NY State Education Department’s State Board of Physical Therapy as an approved provider of PT and PTA continuing education.  Rutgers is also a pre-approved provider of PT continuing education in Pennsylvania.  For continuing education credits in other states, please check with your individual state’s Board for CE approval information.

This course is being presented virtually via Zoom as a live, synchronous event.  Prior to the course date, you will be sent log-on information for this session.  Attendance will be monitored via the Zoom app.  Please plan on being present for the entire course.  Following the course, a certificate of attendance will be emailed to you.  Please register for the course using your personal email account in order to facilitate this process.
